This Is My City’s Art
April 4 to 25
Main Floor
Central Library
This is My City Art Society artists serve as mentors who bring their skills and love of art into shelters and service agencies and connect with individuals there to make music, theatre, and visual art together. We currently hold weekly visual art programs in a variety of media including printmaking, painting, drawing, and found object assemblage at the Calgary Drop-In and Rehab Centre. In addition, a photography workshop is underway at Alpha House and a mural project was recently completed at Alpha House’s transitional housing site The Lodging. The works in this display are a small sample of the many expressions of creativity produced in these settings.

The New Gallery’s +15 Window
Ryan Delve conjures up evocative, fantastic images in acrylic paint that flow across clothing and other three-dimensional surfaces. Bill’s sensitive pencil drawings reflect his keen observational skills and a disciplined dedication to capturing the nuances of light and shadow which sometimes jump off the page onto a variety of objects. Though their styles are distinct, Ryan and Bill share a life-long passion for art that finds expression in the art studio of the Calgary Drop-In Centre where they reside.
